Shaw Hill

One of many drumlins in The Machars of Galloway, Shaw Hill rises to 106m (347 feet) to the south of the Flow of Drumnescat, 1¼ miles (2 km) east northeast of Loch Head. It is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. Confusingly, there is another Shaw Hill just 2¾ miles (4.5 km) to the east northeast.
