Derry Hill

Derry Hill comprises a pair of summits in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, rising to 115m / 377 feet and 107m / 351 feet respectively, a half-mile (1 km) north of Loch Head and 2¼ miles (4 km) north northwest of Mochrum. The higher southern section of the hill comprises Silurian greywacke rock, while the northern section is covered by superficial glacial till, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet. There are small woodlands scattered over its slopes.
