Auchness Hill

A well-defined drumlin, Auchness Hill rises to 66m (216 feet) in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, 2 miles (3 km) east of Monreith. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, and has its principal axis aligned NE-SW suggesting the direction of glacial flow. There are two other drumlins named Auchness Hill, both located 11 miles (18 km) to the north northwest.
