Challoch Hill

A teardrop-shaped summit in The Machars of Galloway, Challoch Hill rises to 83m (272 feet) a mile (1.6 km) north northwest of Whithorn. This is a particularly well-defined drumlin, one of a number of drumlins in this area, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow. There is another Challoch Hill located next to Elrig Loch, 8½ miles (14 km) to the northwest.
