Dowalton Hill

An elongated whaleback in The Machars of Galloway, Dowalton Hill rises to 70m (229 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) north northeast of White Loch and 1½ miles (2.5 km) west southwest of Sorbie. This represents a well-defined drumlin, one of a number hereabouts, with its principal axis aligned ENE-WSW indicating the direction of ice flow. A forest plantation occupies Grennan Moss to the south.
