Bar Hill

A teardrop-shaped summit in The Machars of Galloway, Bar Hill rises to 53m (173 feet) between Barledziew Hill and Cairn Hill, ¾ mile (1.2 km) south of Sorbie. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabouts, aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. There is another drumlin also known as Bar Hill located 10½ miles (17 km) to the north northwest.
