Tacher Hill

An elongated little hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Tacher Hill rises to 35m (114 feet) a mile (1.8 km) west of Garlieston. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area, aligned NW-SE indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered the area. Tacher Wood lies to the northwest, while there is a cup-and-ring marked rock between Tacher Hill and Calfward Hill to the southwest.
