Round Hill

Not round, but rather an greatly elongated hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Round Hill rises to 64m (209 feet) 2½ miles (4 km) west of Sorbie. Dowalton Burn and the site of the former Dowalton Loch lie to the north. Round Hill is part of a drumlin field which extends across this area, and has its principal axis aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of ice flow. It has a distinct tail which is referred to as Wood Hill.
