White Hill

An elongated summit in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, White Hill rises to 111m (364 feet) a mile (1.6 km) north of the A75 Trunk Road and 3 miles (5 km) east northeast of Glenluce. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area, aligned NNE-SSW suggesting the direction of ice flow within an ancient glacier. Confusingly, there are several other White Hills closeby; the nearest being 2 miles (3 km) to the south southeast, 4½ miles (7 km) to the east northeast and 5 miles (8 km) to the northeast.
