Barbae

The most prominent of a group of drumlins in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Barbae rises to 116m (380 feet) to the north of the Black Burn, 6 miles (10 km) west of Newton Stewart. Deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet, this drumlin is triangular in plan. There is another drumlin of very similar height also known as Barbae 3¾ miles (6 km) to the southwest.
