Ring Hill

A drumlin in The Machars of Galloway, Ring Hill rises to 88m (288 feet) between the Black Burn and the River Bladnoch, 3¾ miles (6 km) north of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area, deposited beneath and ancient ice sheet. It is aligned NW-SE indicating the direction of ice flow. There is another Ring Hill 12 miles (19 km) to the southeast, which is also a drumlin.
