An elongated hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, the Rig of Barnharrow rises to just above 110m (360 feet) on the right bank of the Black Burn, opposite Barharrie, 1¼ miles (2 km) north northwest of Culvennan Fell. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, with an extended tail and its principal axis aligned N-S indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet.
