Big Hill

A little hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Big Hill rises to just beyond 70m (229 feet) a half-mile (0.8 km) south of Kirkinner. Incongruously, this summit is higher than Little Hill which lies a quarter-mile (0.4 km) to the southwest. These are both part of an extensive drumlin field and Big Hill is aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow of the ancient ice sheet which once covered the area.
