Cairn Hill

A summit in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Cairn Hill rises to 73m (239 feet) to the southwest of Barraer and a half-mile (0.8 km) east of Barraer Fell. This is an example of a drumlin, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet and aligned NNW-SSE suggesting the direction of flow. There are several other drumlins called Cairn Hill located 3 miles (5 km) to the north and to the south.
