White Hill

A teardrop-shaped summit in The Machars of Galloway, White Hill rises to 71m (232 feet) to the north of the A75 Trunk Road and 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Newton Stewart. This one of a number of drumlins hereabouts, with its principal axis aligned NW-SE suggesting the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. There are other drumlins nearby also called White Hill.
