A drumlin on the eastern flank of Mindork Fell in The Machars of Galloway, Barmeen Hill rises to 80m (262 feet) within plantation forest 1½ miles (2.5 km) south of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabouts, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow.
