Old Hill

A little drumlin of limited prominence in The Machars of Galloway, Old Hill rises to just beyond 90m (295 feet) on the left bank of the Tarf Water, 2½ miles (4 km) west of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabouts, with its principal axis aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet.
