A stream which rises as field drains near Nunwood, to the northwest of Dumfries, and flows southeast mostly in culverts through the district of Lochside, under the Cuckoo Bridge Retail Park, to re-emerge north of Nithside and fall into the River Nith a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the southeast, opposite Dumfries Academy.
