Argyle Street Railway Station

A below-ground station on Glasgow's suburban railway network, Argyle Street Station lies towards the eastern end of Argyle Street, close to the St. Enoch Centre. Located on the Argyle Line, it is preceded by Bridgeton Railway Station, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Glasgow Central, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the northwest. Known in Gaelic as Sràid Earra-Ghàidheal, this station was opened in 1979. Now operated by ScotRail, Argyle Street Railway Station is staffed part-time and is used by 734,756 passengers per annum (2009-10).
