Barnhill Railway Station


(Cnoc an t-Sabhail)

Barnhill (Gael: Cnoc an t-Sabhail) is a suburban railway station on the North Clyde Line in Glasgow, a half-mile (1 km) east northeast of Sighthill and 1½ miles (2.5 km) northeast of the city centre. This station opened in 1883 on the City of Glasgow Union Railway. It is preceded by Springburn Railway Station, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the northwest, and followed by Alexandra Parade, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the south southeast. Operated by ScotRail, Barnhill Station is unstaffed and is used by more than 72,000 passengers per annum (2015). The Cumbernauld Line loops around this station to the west.
