Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway Station (Gael: Dùn Phàrlain Banrigh Mairead) lies on the Fife Circle Line, a half-mile (1 km) west of Halbeath and 1½ miles (2.5 km) east northeast of the town centre. This station was opened in 2000 on the site of the former Townhill Junction and is preceded by Dunfermline Town Railway Station, 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the southwest, and followed by Cowdenbeath, 3¾ miles (6 km) to the northeast. Operated by ScotRail, Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway Station is unstaffed and is used by 205,330 passengers per annum (2009-10).
