Mull Aquarium

Mull Aquarium opened in 2015 on the ground floor of Tobermory Harbour Visitor Centre. It is marketed as Europe's first catch-and-release aquarium, where the exhibits are gathered by local fishermen and divers, and released back into their natural habitat within four weeks minimising the environmental impact. The aquarium includes thirteen tanks and a touch pool, containing more than sixty marine species. There are also displays on local history, navigation, lighthouses and wildlife, together with a virtual dive in Loch Sunart and a sandbox showing colour-changing contour lines. A small cinema shows short wildlife films and other films of local interest.
