Waverley Park

An affluent residential district within Shawlands in Glasgow City Council Area, Waverley Park lies between Shawlands Academy and Pollok Country Park, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Glasgow city centre. The housing comprises substantial stone-built villas and terraces. The streets is the core of district are laid out in a grid pattern and take their names from Sir Walter Scott's Waverley Novels; for example Dinmont Road, Durward Avenue, Ellangowan Road, Kenilworth Avenue, Mannering Road, Midlothian Drive, Nigel Gardens, Peveril Avenue, Ravenshall Road, Ravenswood Drive, St. Ronan's Drive and Woodstock Avenue. Shawlands Railway Station is located here.
