Cathcart Old Bridge

(Snuff Mill Bridge)

An ancient bridge over the White Cart Water in Glasgow City, Cathcart Old Bridge (also known as the Snuff Mill Bridge) comprises a large circular arch, with a span of 20m / 65 feet, and a smaller subsidiary arch to the east. Constructed in 1624, on the site of an older bridge, it seems to have rebuilt in the 18th C. Cathcart Old Bridge was closed to traffic in 1924 and B-listed in 1970.
