Aberdeen Clayhills Carriage Maintenance Depot

(Clayhills Yard)

Located just to the south southwest of Aberdeen Railway Station, the Aberdeen Clayhills Carriage Maintenance Depot is a stabling facility for trains at the end of the East Coast Main Line, operated by the East Coast franchise holder. Long-distance services that are cleaned, fuelled and watered here include the Caledonian Sleeper, InterCity 125 High-Speed Trains operating to Leeds and London King's Cross and some ScotRail diesel multiple unit trainsets. Minor maintenance is undertaken, with more extensive work undertaken elsewhere, for example Craigentinny Depot in Edinburgh.
