Dell of Spey

A folly on the Aviemore Burn in Highland Council Area, the Dell of Spey is the name given to a picturesque construction which lies behind a row of shops immediately to the north of Aviemore Railway Station in the centre of the village. Built in 1997 by placing a number of large blocks of rock in the stream, it comprises a series of pretty little waterfalls in a wooded glade. It was constructed in conjunction with the Aviemore Partnership and was part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the Highlands and Islands Objective One Partnership Programme together with the Highland Council and Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey Enterprise.
