Auchtertyre Viaduct

A curved five-span lattice-girder railway viaduct which carries the single-track West Highland Line over the Allt Auchtertyre, the Auchtertyre Viaduct lies on the north side of Strath Fillan, above Auchtertyre in Stirling Council Area. Opened on 11th August 1894, the viaduct is supported on ashlar piers and is 91.5m (300 feet) in length. It comprises one span of 30.8m (101 feet) and four spans of 15.3m (50 feet). Designed by engineers Formans & McCall of Glasgow, it was built by Lucas & Aird of London with Alexander Findlay & Co. of Motherwell responsible for the steelwork
