Craignaw

A Graham peak of Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, Craignaw lies 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Loch Enoch and rises to a height of 645m (2116 feet). It lies in the north of the Galloway Forest Park. This granite mountain is part of the Loch Doon Igneous Complex and has sections of cliff which are popular with climbers. A United States Air Force F111 aircraft crashed on the western slopes of the hill on 19th December 1979, killing its crew of two. A small memorial marks the site.
