A nature reserve in the NW of the Rhinns of Islay, Smaull Farm is located 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Saligo Bay. It is owned by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) which both runs the farm on a semi-commercial basis and manages the land to benefit nationally-rare chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) and corncrake (Crex crex), as well as providing a refuge for wintering geese.
