Gutted Haddie

A steep gulley on the western side of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Gutted Haddie (literally the 'disemboweled haddock') represents an erosional landslip brought about by heavy rain on the 13th September 1744 which exposed the volcanic core of the hill. Today, the scree-covered gulley provides a perilous route to the summit.
