A steeply-sloping small residential suburb of the City of Edinburgh, Meadowfield lies between Duddingston and Willowbrae on the lower slopes of Dunsapie Hill. Development began with bungalows built along, and on a street parallel to, Duddingston Road West in the 1930s. Behind, Meadowfield Park separates Holyrood Park from a public housing scheme built in the 1950s. Within this scheme is a small parade of shops, some now converted to domestic use.
