Barony Isle

A former riverine island within the Dee in Dumfries and Galloway, Barony Isle is now attached to the eastern bank of the river, 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Castle Douglas. Extending to 15.3 ha (37.8 acres), the channel which once separated the island was later exploited by a canal. The land now forms part of Culvennan farm.
