Barley Hill

A partially-wooded oval summit on the Threave Estate in S Dumfries and Galloway, Barley Hill rises to 72m (236 feet) a mile (1.6 km) southwest of Castle Douglas. It is interpreted as a drumlin, one of a number in this area, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and aligned N-S indicating the direction of flow.
