Furbar Hill

A modest summit situated in farmland on the southwestern shore of Carlingwark Loch in the S of Dumfries and Galloway, Furbar Hill rises to 61m (200 feet) a mile (1.5 km) south southwest of Castle Douglas. This is a well-defined little drumlin, one of a number in this area, deposited under an ancient ice sheet. It is aligned N-S indicating the direction of ice flow.
