Erne Hill

A rounded summit of Dumfries and Galloway, Erne Hill rises to 89m (291 feet) ¾ mile (1.2 km) northeast of Castle Douglas. Geomorphologically, this is an example of a drumlin, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and aligned NNW-SSE indicating the direction of flow. A ring of woodland cuts across its northern slopes.
