Crae Hill

A teardrop-shaped summit lying to the south of Castle Douglas and Carlingwark Loch in the S of Dumfries and Galloway, Crae Hill rises to 68m (223 feet) and represents a particularly well-defined drumlin, one of a number of drumlins in this area, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and is aligned NW-SE indicating the direction of flow. There is another Crae Hill 8½ miles (14 km) to the northwest.
