A low oval summit in in the S of Dumfries and Galloway, Birk Hill rises to 72m (236 feet) a half-mile (0.8 km) south of Bridge of Dee, on the opposite bank of the River Dee, and a similar distance southwest of Rhonehouse. This is a drumlin, one of a number in this area, deposited under an ancient ice sheet and aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow.
