Penicuik Trinity Community Church

(St Mungo's Parish Church)

Penicuik Trinity Community Church is the parish church for Penicuik, representing the union of Penicuik South and Howgate churches with Penicuik St. Mungo's, which took place in 2022. It comprises a classical square building on the High Street, with a prominent four-column Doric portico. It dates from 1771 and was most-likely designed by Sir James Clerk (1709-82), the local laird.

In the churchyard behind is the ruined former parish church (known as St. Kentigern's Church) and the mausoleum of the Clerks of Penicuik, dating from 1684. There is also the former Hearse House which was restored as an exhibition room in 2024. The church hall lies on the opposite side of Kirkhill Road.
