A squat obelisk overlooking the A849 road in the Ross of Mull, the Mary Macdonald Monument commemorates the Gaelic poet who lived at nearby Ardtun. Mary MacDougal Macdonald (1789 - 1872) is noted for the hymn Child in the Manger (Leanabh an àigh).
