Camas na Clibhe

A bay with a fine sandy beach in the extreme west of Lewis in the Western Isles, Camas na Clibhe lies to the west of the Valtos Peninsula, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) north of Cliff. The Esra, a three-masted sailing vessel, ran aground here on 3rd November 1898 and its remains still lie beneath the sand. Artefacts salvaged from the wreck can be seen in Uig Museum.
