A mountain rising steeply to a height of 992m (3255 feet) west of Cannich, in the Inverness district of Highland Council Area, Carn nan Gobhar is Gaelic for 'hill of the goats'. It is classified as a Munro. Confusingly, there is another Carn nan Gobhar, of exactly the same height, located 8½ miles (14 km) to the northeast.
