Ruadh Stac Mor

Located in the centre of Letterewe wilderness, in Wester Ross, Ruadh Stac Mor is a Munro which rises to a height of 919m (3014 feet) to the east of Loch Maree and is one of the most remote of all the Scotland's peaks. There is an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar at its summit, which lies 8 miles (13 km) north of Kinlochewe. Composed of sandstone, the route to the summit contains a number of zig-zags, but is clear. The name Ruadh Stac Mor originates from Gaelic and means "big red peak". There is another Ruadh-stac Mor 10 miles (16 km) to the south southwest.
