Am Basteir

Am Basteir is located on the Cuillin ridge on the Isle of Skye, in Highland Council Area. The easiest approach to the summit is along the eastern ridge from Bealach a' Bhasteir. This peak, at 934m (3064 feet), dominates the head of Corrie a' Bhasteir and qualifies as a Munro. The name Am Basteir is Gaelic with an obscure meaning, which has been translated to 'the executioner'.
