Parish of Tynron

Tynron is a parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 7 miles (11 km) west of Thornhill and 10 miles (16 km) south of Kirkconnel in Dumfries and Galloway.

It is located in the old county of Dumfriesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 63.7 sq. km (24.6 sq. miles). Tynron has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Dalry, Glencairn, Keir and Penpont.
