Parish of Applegarth

Applegarth is a parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 4 miles (6 km) north of Lockerbie and 11 miles (18 km) south of Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway.

It is located in the old county of Dumfriesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 48.2 sq. km (18.6 sq. miles). Applegarth has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Dryfesdale, Hutton & Corrie, Johnstone, Lochmaben and Wamphray.
