Parish of Dunscore

Dunscore is a parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 7 miles (12 km) south of Thornhill and 14 miles (23 km) north of Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway.

It is located in the old county of Dumfriesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 60.3 sq. km (23.2 sq. miles). Dunscore has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Balmaclellan, Glencairn, Holywood, Keir, Kirkmahoe, Kirkpatrick Durham and Kirkpatrick Irongray.
