Parish of Elgin

Elgin is a parish, which lies in Moray Council Area, some 10 miles (16 km) east of Forres and 14 miles (23 km) northwest of Dufftown in Moray.

It is located in the old county of Moray, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 77.8 sq. km (30 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Elgin. Elgin has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Alves, Birnie, Dallas, Rafford, Rothes, Spynie and St Andrews-Lhanbryd.
