Kilmorack is a coastal parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Fort Augustus and 24 miles (38 km) southwest of Dingwall in Highland.
It is located in the old county of Invernessshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 579.3 sq. km (223.7 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Beauly. Kilmorack has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Glenshiel, Kiltarlity & Convinth, Kintail, Kirkhill, Lochalsh, Urquhart & Glenmoriston and Urray. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
