Parish of Aberdeen

Aberdeen is a coastal parish, which lies in Aberdeen City Council Area, some 6 miles (10 km) north of Portlethen and 13 miles (21 km) north of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire and includes a small offshore island.

It is located in the old county of Aberdeenshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 37.9 sq. km (14.6 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Aberdeen. Aberdeen has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Banchory-Devenick, Newhills, Nigg, Old Machar and Peterculter.
