Parish of Strachan Strachan is a parish, which lies in Aberdeenshire Council Area, some 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Banchory and 15 miles (24 km) west of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.It is located in the old county of Kincardineshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.The parish has an area of 169.2 sq. km (65.3 sq. miles).
